SMC is in its final season as a two-year school and will begin fielding teams as a four-year school beginning in 2025.

Gamecocks to honor Bradley

Lindell Bradley, the first African-American baseball player at the University of South Carolina, will be honored by the school in conjunction with Baseball Alumni Weekend.

Bradley came to USC from Butler High School, a black high school in Hartsville.  He played on the freshman team in 1986 and the varsity in 1969 before concentrating on his academic career.

He will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Sunday's game with Kentucky.

Below are links to details about him being honored and to a feature story written by Brad Muller of Gamecocksonline.com

There was only one tie in the NJCAA Region 10 standings at the end of region play: USC Lancaster and USC Sumter tied for fourth (and fifth) place with 9-15 region records

The schools went 2-2 in their head-to-head series. They also had identical records against the other five region teams, so a coin toss was held Tuesday to break the tie.

USC Lancaster won the toss and will be the fourth seed for tournament purposes. That means the Lancers will be home team for their first-round region tournament game May 3 at Lexington. USC Sumter will be the visiting team. Had the Fire Ants won the toss, the home-visitor slots would have been reversed.
